Description
Dr. Katherin Jellison is a Professor Emerita in the History Department at Ohio University. She specialized in U.S. Women’s history and taught courses on that subject as well as Native American and Ohio history. She completed her Ph.D. in history at the University of Iowa, where she studied under Linda K. Kerber. Her first book, Entitled to Power: Farm Women and Technology, 1913-1963, examines the advent of agricultural technology and the response that midwestern women had to it. Her second book, It’s Our Day: America’s Love Affair with the White Wedding, 1945-2005, includes some writing about White House weddings. This led to her becoming a highly sought-after source on the topics of first ladies and women in politics. For 2017, she won the Keystroke Catalyst Award for having the most media placements among Ohio University faculty. She has also won the Excellence in Feminist Pedagogy Award and the Jeannette G.
