Description

Dr. Carl Jón Denbow was born on November 24th, 1944, in Maryland and grew up in Athens, Ohio, where his father worked as a professor. He spent his childhood with his two sisters, Stefania A. Denbow Hubbard and E. Signe Denbow, while his parents, Carl Herbert Denbow and Stefania Bjornson Denbow, raised the family. Over the years, Carl earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University, a master's degree in journalism from Ohio State University, and a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Ohio University. From 1964 to 1966, Carl Denbow served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Newport News as the heavy cruiser's daily newspaper co-editor. Carl Denbow was hired by Ohio University in 1978 as the director of information for the College of Osteopathic Medicine following stints at Murray State University and Marshall University. Carl ran for the Athens, Ohio, city council in 1981. Dr. Carl Denbow remained at Ohio University until his retirement in 2009.

Gabriel Nilsen was born on February 6th, 2004, and grew up in Lancaster, Ohio. He is a history major in his senior year at Ohio University
