Abstract
Takemitsu (1931-1996), a Japanese composer, fused western avant-garde with Noh theater in "November Steps" (1967). This study explores his unique shakuhachi scoring, considering his perspective and Japanese performers' reactions, highlighting an overlooked aspect of his innovative legacy.
