Evidence for Subduction Erosion in a Paleosubduction Zone (Sivrihisar, Turkey)
Abstract
This research tests whether subduction erosion, a process that involves the transfer of material from an upper tectonic plate to a lower tectonic plate, occurred in the Sivrihisar paleosubduction zone by studying the age and composition of high-pressure rocks and minerals and comparing them to the known ages and compositions of the upper and lower plates in this region.
