Event Title
Democratic Backsliding and the Response of Civil Society Organizations of Bangladesh
Abstract
In restricting the eligibility and operation of civil society groups (CSOs) there is currently a global trend toward a decline in democracy. This in turn contributes to democratic backsliding. The government's efforts to restrict alternative democratic actors, such as opposition political parties or, more crucially, CSOs, from participating, are what are causing this democratic backsliding.
