Faculty Senate

Faculty Senate is an elected representative body that advocates for Ohio University faculty on matters of curriculum, academic policies, University planning, resource allocation, and governance.

As a key partner in University governance, the Senate provides representatives to all relevant University committees, boards, and task forces. The Faculty Senate provides a forum for the Ohio University faculty to participate in discussions regarding their concerns.

All Faculty Senate meetings are open and all faculty members are welcome to participate in meeting discussions.

Faculty Senate Chair Robin Muhammad's virtual office hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and are by appointment only. Please email Robin Muhammad at dearmon@ohio.edu to request a Zoom link. Face-to-face appointments are limited but available on request.

Mission Statement

The Ohio University Faculty Senate is dedicated to creating and maintaining a University environment that preserves academic freedom and fosters the free exchange of ideas. The Senate does this through representing the interests of Ohio University faculty.
